transfer/upgrade

I am about to buy a new computer and have a question about Office.
I had Office 95 full, then upgraded to Office 97, then upgraded to Office
2000 Professional. That is what I currently use. Will I be able to
"transfer"(install) Office 2000 on the new computer?I no longer have
diskettes with Office 95 or CD with Office 97.
Also if I decide to buy Office 2003 upgrade, will I be able to install it on
the new machine when I have only CDs with Office 2002 upgrade?

Very doubtful, since you no longer have the "qualifying product" for the
2000 Upgrade version.

That should work - just be sure that you KEEP your Office 2002 CDs; it is
required in your End User License Agreement

Will the installation process of Office 2003 upgrade look for the Office
2002 on the hard drive or it will be OK to have Office 2002 upgrade CD in
the CD drive ?

Hi Mark,

You can present the qualifying product to use an
Office 2003 upgrade product by either approach.

- Qualifying product is installed
- Qualifying product source media is available.

I went to the store to buy Office 2003. The store clerk showed me Microsoft
brochure that stated that in order to be eligible for upgrade "one of the
following products ...... must be on your hard drive".
