Transfering Office to a new PC

Jim

Does anyone know the licensing rules on installing your
existing copy of Office on a new PC? I understand that I
would un-install it from my old PC, but how do you notify
MSFT that the product id is now un-installed and you want
to re-register on the new hardware?

Thanks in advance

OEM copies stay with the original machine - they cannot be moved. Retail
copies can be moved to a new machine. When you install, you will be prompted
to activate. If the Internet method does not work, back up one step and use
the telephone method. It is quick and painless.
