Transfering Outlook Data

John

I want to transfer my Outlook Contacts files from Outlook
98 on one computer to Outlook XP on a new computer. The
General and Detail info transfers OK, but none of the
Journal entries transfer. What do I need to do?

Thanks,
John

The journal entries "link" is broken when you export items (and import as
well) since the journal folder stays behind.

The solution is to copy the .pst file to the new computer and open it using
File->Open which will retain all properties of the .pst file.

Your best bet is to just re-use your .PST file from Outlook 98 in
Outlook 2002 -- then everything should be just as you had it before.
Look at the following two articles for help with this -- one is a primer
on Outlook files, and the other gives instructions for moving to a new
Outlook 2002 machine.
