transferring contact list from one outlook to another

I am on temporary assignment in North Carolina, I live in
Orlando Florida. I have computers in both locations,
both have Outlook installed on them.

The computer in North Carolina is new and has 0 Contacts
in Outlook at the present time.

The computer in Orlando Florida has over 600 Contacts in
Outlook at the present time.

Can the 600 Contacts in Outlook on the computer in
Orlando be e-mailed to the computer in North Carolina and
put in it's Outlook Contact list. Or will I have to
manually re-enter all of them????

If they can be e-mailed from Orlando to North Carolina,
what is the tranfer procedure.

Howdy, neighbor...I'm on the Space Coast.

On the Orlando computer, use File | New (in Outlook) to create a new
Personal Folders File (or Outlook Data File -- different name in
different versions of Outlook, but both refer to a .PST file). Note the
location of this new .PST in your Windows folders, so you can get to it
again later. When the new .PST appears in your Outlook Folder List
(View | Folder List if it's not already visible), right-click on one of
its folders, choose New Folder, and create a new folder for Contact
items.

Next, click on your default Contacts folder, then switch to an
unfiltered table view such as By Category so you can see all your
contacts at once. Select all contacts (Edit | Select All), then
right-click and drag them to the new Contacts folder you created. When
you release the mouse button it will ask you if you want to copy or
move; choose Copy. All contacts will be copied to the Contacts folder
in your new .PST file.

When the copy operation is done, and you've verified that all items were
copied (check both folders), close the new .PST file by right-clicking
its top-level folder and selecting Close. It will disappear from your
Folder List.

To e-mail the .PST file, simply attach it to an e-mail message and send.
(Hopefully it won't be too large -- if it is, you might need to zip the
file, or possibly create more than one .PST file so you can e-mail them
separately.) If you have trouble finding the .PST, try searching in
hidden and system folders -- Windows 2000 and XP hide Outlook files.
Once it arrives in your North Carolina inbox, you can save it to your
hard drive, make sure it's not marked read-only, and open it in your
Outlook Folder List via File | Open. Then drag the contacts to your
default Contacts folder the same way you did before, and when you're
done, close the .PST out of Outlook.

That was a little long-winded, but it should be straightforward If
you have any problems with this, please post back. (P.S. -- it's also
possible for you to export and import the contacts, but sometimes things
go haywire during the import/export process, so try the above procedure
first.)
