Transferring data from a table in Word to Access

I would like to know if it is possible to transfer data
from a table in Word to an Access database.
I created a document by inserting a table in Word and I
now would like to place that data in Access to better
manage it (when we started out we didn't realize how big
it would end up, and now it is pretty difficult to manage
in Word).
I have attempted to copy the data from the Word doc into
an Access table and I have also tried to copy the table
into an excel file where I would be able to export the
data to Access.
When I copy it into access only a few rows show up, and
others are dumped into another "failure" table.
When I copy it into excel it assigns a new row for every
bullet-pointed piece of information in the last column, so
row 1 in the Word document becomes rows 1-7 in excel so
row 2 in Word is now row 8 in excel, etc.
When I right click on rows in the last column and try to
merge them under the "Alignment" tab it tells me that the
different rows have different data values and that if I
try to merge them the top left portion of data will be the
only one that will survive.

In a nutshell, I am looking for any way possible to get
the data in the Word document into my newly designed
Access database without having to re-key it all in.

Thanks, and email your response if you could.
