Russ - I'm fainthearted about this. The Contacts I imported into Outlook
2007 from Outlook 2003 contain conventional addresses and a few email
addresses. If I now import into Outlook 2007 the address file from
Windows
Mail (which contains ONLY email addresses) will it overwrite or destroy my
Contacts info?
Furthermore, Outlook Import Wizard offers several import choices: from
Another Program or File, from Internet Mai Account Settings, and from
Internet Mail and Addresses. Which is the one for me?
Thanks again,
Ed

You've made two incompatible statements. If you imported into Windows
Mail,
then you just use Outlook's Import Wizard to import from Windows Mail. If
instead you created a CSV file, then you use Outlook's Import Wizard to
import the CSV file. Make up your mind. The latter will most likely incur
more data loss than the former.

Russ - OK, I imported the OE6 address book into Windows Mail. It's in
an
Excel-type file in CSV format. How do I import it as an address book
into
Outlook?

Thanks
Ed
:
OE can only be imported into Windows Mail. From there you import into
Outlook.

I'm trying to import my Outlook Express 6 address book into Outlook
2007
on a
new computer running Vista. I used the import/export instructions
but
Outlook does not recognize it. (I don't mean Outlook Contacts which
I
successfully imported. I also imported the OE Address book into
Windows
Mail
in my wife's account.)
