transferring groups / distribution lists to Entourage from Outlook

P

Peter Lennon

We're using Entourage 2004 (11.2.4) in exchange mode. One of my end users
created some distribution lists in Outlook 2001 for Mac on the Exchange
server. While these distribution lists still show up if one uses a browser,
only the regular contacts (not the distribution lists/groups) show up in
Entourage, not the groups.

I've searched the web but can't find a way to get her the groups she created
in Outlook 2001 for Mac to show up appear in Entourage, as do all her other
contacts. This seems like such a basic thing, but what I've found seems to
indicate this is undoable. Does anyone know how to get her already-existing
groups to show up in Entourage (in exchange mode).

Thanks

Sorry, groups/distribution lists are not synchronized with the Exchange
Server. I believe you can use the PST Import Tool to import groups from
Outlook 2001 PST files into Entourage:
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx#Office2004>

Be sure to let Microsoft know that you want to see this feature in a future
release of Entourage. In Entourage X or 2004, go to Help > Send Feedback on
Entourage. Otherwise, click on this direct link to enter Mac Product
Feedback:

Actually, the PST import tool does not import groups - sorry. What
we're having users do is to access them using Outlook Web Access or
create them from scratch. The only problem with that is that Groups can
reside only in their "Folders on my computer" area, which means they
can't get to them if the log into another computer.

I'm really hoping Microsoft pays attention to this one on the next
rev...
