Transferring Office 2007 to new computer

I have the retail version of Office 2007 Pro and have used all three licenses
included on three of my computers. I just bought a new desktop and would like
to transfer the license from my old desktop to the new one as I will no
longer be using my old desktop. How do I do that? Can I just uninstall the
Office 2007 from my old desktop and install it on the new desktop? I'm still
not clear about this and I would really like to not spend any more money.

I'm looking at the CD right now and it says "Office Professional Plus 2007"
and it's licensed for students and faculty.

I bought it from JourneyEd.com

If it's an academic priced version of Office Pro, it should fall under the
standard Office Pro licence - one desktop and one portable.

Not the three installs that you're allowed with the Home and Student
version.

This is what I have: "English--Microsoft Office Professional Plus
2007--April 2007--Applications--Student Media--Licensed for use only by
Students and Faculty". It says all that on the CD I got from the college
bookstore, and they tell me that I can install it on three computers, using
one Product Key. It appears to be actually licensed to the college, which
sells media and product keys to students for a nominal fee. I believe that
it is a full edition of Office Professional, except for the licensing
arrangement. I don't know whether JourneyEd.com has a similar arrangement
to sell Office Professional to students and faculty, but they could have
one. From their web site, they appear to be selling Office Professional to
students, just like my college bookstore.

This is different from my experience with Office 2003, where there was a
separate Student and Teacher Edition.

"Transferring" the license from one computer to another isn't as complicated
as it sounds. Merely stop using the product on one computer, uninstall it
if you like, and install it on the other one. If there are problems at
activation time, you will be presented with a toll free number to call, to
explain what you are doing.

Cheers,

Earle
