Transferring Office to a new computer

R

I bought a new iMac G5. I need to take Office off of the old iMac and
install it on the new one. (Using Tiger on both machines.) I have
kept the Office updated. Can I simply port the entire set of files
from the old iMac to the new one? I have my original registration
numbers, but would rather not go through a fresh install and then try
to find all the updates and work through them.

Does the old iMac have Firewire? If it does, you can start up in Target
mode and pull everything over.

Keying in "target mode" in Mac Help will give you all the information you
need.

* A SUGGESTION -- WAIT FOR CONSIDERED ADVICE: If you post a question, keep
re-visiting the newsgroup for several days after the first response comes
in. Sometimes it takes a few responses before the best or complete solution
is proposed; sometimes you'll be asked for further information so that a
better answer can be provided. Good tips about getting the best out of
posting are at http://word.mvps.org/FindHelp/Posting.htm (if you use Safari
you may see a blank page and have to hit the circular arrow icon -- "Reload
the current page" -- a few times).
