If I remember correctly, it used to be possible in Project 2002 to save a
workplan offline, transfer the offline project from the machine (Application
Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Project\etc. folder) you are working on (ex. a
shared machine) to your laptop, work on the offline project there (by just
double-clicking the file), upload the offline project back to the shared
machine's appropriate folder and then save the offline project back to the
Project Server.
Is it still possible to do this in Project 2003? Whenever I try to open the
workplan in the laptop, Working Offline will understandably not show the
offline workplan (even if I create a folder with the identical path as in the
shared machine). Double-clicking doesn't work either since Project informs
me that I need to be working offline.
We can only use the shared machine to connect to the server because of
connectivity issues. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
