Transferring Outlook content from one PC to another

I have bought a new PC and want to transfer all of my Outlook content from
my old PC to my new one. How can I do this, please? My old PC is running
Office 2000 but I am not sure if I will install Office 2000 or 2003 on the
new one.

I would go for Outlook 2003!
Configure Outlook and copy your pst-file from the old to the new one. You
can connect to you your pst-file by File-> Open-> Outlook Data File... To
set is as your default delivery location (Outlook Today folder set) go to
Tools-> E-mail Accounts-> button Next

Moving a PST file from one PC to another PC, both using Outlook 2000, doesn't seem to preserve the Master Categories list. Is there a way to
transfer the Master Categories list? Is there anything else that doesn't get moved along in the PST file?

Your categories are stored as a registry entry and that varies with the version of Outlook you are using -- http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/olcat.htm

See here for more information about the other files that hold the various settings --http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm#fileloc

Athena,

I followed the instructions for transferring the Master Categories from the
registry on my old PC to the new PC but the old categories did not show up in
Outlook on my new PC. I am going from Outlook 2002 to 2003. Is it possible
that the Master Categories are under 9.0 in the Registry vs. 10.0? It appears
that some of the newer categories show up under the DATA heading under 9.0
while only binary data appears under the same heading for 10.0. I have been
using 2002 for over a year. Thanks for your help.
