I am trying to transfer my outlook data files (.pst) from my old computer to
my new computer. I have copied the outlook.pst file on a external hard drive
for tranfer into my new computer. Old computer has Windows XP and Outlook
2003.
First Question is: Where do I put this file on my new computer with Windows
Vista and Outlook 2007? (I currently put it in C:Windows/Outlook.pst)
Second Question is: When I try to import the outlook.pst file into Outlook
2007 on my new computer, I get a message that says "File Access is denied.
You do not have the permission required to access the file
C:\Windows\outlook.pst." What do I have to do to access this file? Since I
am the only user of this computer, I am the administrator.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hope these questions are not too
dumb.
PS. I printed out the articles about this from microsoft.com but find them
to be confusing and inaccurate, especially pertaining to Office 2007.
