Transferring Outlook Files

Jeff

I'm trying to transfer files from an older version of
Outlook on an older computer to an Office XP Outlook
version on a new computer. I've downloaded the .dbx files
onto a flash drive, but can't find where to put them in
the XP version. I'd also like to transfer some contacts
from old to new. Can someone please help?

..dbx files belong to Outlook Express and cannot be read by Outlook. You
would need to first import the files into Outlook Express and then export
them to Outlook. Outlook cannot "interpret" the .dbx files without
intervention from Express. Outlook uses a .pst file format for its files.
