Transferring Outlook To New Computer

Randy

Hello,

I am in the process of switching computers. My plan is
that my new pc will house both my old hard drive and a
new hard drive which will be the master. So I will
reinstall MS-Office. Now I know there is a very large
file which essentially contains all your incoming and
outgoing correspondence (assuming one does not delete
emails) within the Outlook Directory. I want to transfer
this data to my new pc. If I copy that file from the old
hard drive and deposit it into the appropriate directory
on the new one, will the old correspondence become
functional?? Thank you in advance.

Use the import export feature. Click File:Import & Export. A window will open. Select export to a file. I export to a .pst file only because your data is stored in outlook.pst. Select a location and name for your export file and export your data. Transfere that file to the new computer. Use import export only this time import the data from your fiel to the same folders. All your data will be transferred.
