I am now the proud owner of a 17" PowerBook G4 1.67 with 2 GB memory.

I've load my copy of Office 2004 on my PowerBook.

How easy is it to Transfer my Templates from my old machine to the new
machine?

I still will use my Desktop unit. Just want all my Templates and normal
set the same on both units.

Hi Phillip,

Enjoy the powerbook.

See here for what you probably want to consider transferring over, at least

answering my own reply.

I had to transfer over a font I s using. before swaping the normal template.

Then I swapped normal template, and the My Templates folder No problems.

Boy I really like the machine but sure is rough on the battery only
works about 3-hrs and a half. I have Bluetooth and airport extreme
turned off.

Guess it has to do with the processor speed 1.67 GB and the 2 GB RAM.

I'd think it has to do with the 17-in screen--except I sure don't get 3.5
hrs out of the battery on my 15-in 1.5 ghz pb, I don't think, more like 2.5
hrs, though with AirPort turned on.

I think NewerTech makes a higher capacity battery you could buy?

I may look into later. Right now my next purchase will the the 149.00
Airport extreme station that plugs directly into a wall socket and then
into ethernet connection.

Guess I'll get that at CompUSA when I am in Va beach Next week.

Hi Phillip:

Possibly it has to do with your power settings and the fact that the Battery
has not been properly "Conditioned" yet.

Allow the machine to run down until it switches itself off twice before
recharging it. That conditions an NiMH battery to accept a full charge.

Then make sure your computer is running on the battery, and go to System
Preferences and set up your Energy Saver settings. (OS X.3 has separate
settings for Battery and Power Adaptor, what you set on Battery applies only
when running on Battery).

For best battery life, allow it to spin the hard drive down when it can, and
set the Processor Performance to Reduced or Automatic.

But the thing that really kills the battery is that huge display. Send it
to me and I will send you my 12" one that does five hours on a battery :)

Cheers
