transferspreadsheet - how to determine size on the fly

I'd like to import excel data into an Access database.
How do I determine the number of rows from excel to
import. I am using a "named range" but this method does
not account for the variable number of rows I actually
have to import and I end up copying blank records.

1. Import the range and then run a delete query for the empty records.
(automate the whole process so it "just works" at the click of a button.)

2. Re-name the range prior to importing! So it only includes the rectagular
data and omits empty rows.

3. You might be able to automate Excel and work something out - tons more
work than 1 or 2 above.

If you did not allow null values in your columns, then the blank lines would
fail to import
