transfertext specs ... where do they live?

I have experimented with transfertext command in macros to pull in data from
a text file. I understand that the specifications for a file can be saved
and used later. Where do these specifications live and in what form are
they stored? Is it possible to edit them directly or must one always use
the import/export wizard to modify them?
