Transform 1TTo1U invalid for package type errors

Whenever I do an AIP, i always end up getting odd errors in the logs like -

*** Log Line Missing ***
DEBUG: Error 2746: Transform 1TTo1U invalid for package
C:\WINNT\Installer\12d279f.msi. Expected product
{91330411-6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9}, found product

however, once it is finished, the log always says -

=== Logging stopped: date time===
MSI (s) (B4:10): Product: Microsoft Office XP Professional -- Installation
operation completed successfully.

This particular log is from the exc1003n update, but it appears to happen to
every single one of them, sp1a/sp2/outlook/word/etc

Any ideas? Is this just junk that can be ignored? normal microsoft errors?
etc?

I got the same problem when I tried to apply SP1a or SP2a
to an adminidtrative distribution point of Office XP Pro.
Did you get any solution ?

Thanks for help,

Eric

No solution as of yet.

I have not had a chance to try some things myself yet, but maybe you have a
spare second or two -
setup a clean w2kprosp4 box, do not install office or the reskit. Do run the
setup /a & patches, see what you get for errors if any.

Hi Ed,

Is the update failing or is this just the entry
in the log file?
Can you email me the log files?

Hi Keith,

Yes, that email address was valid, goes back to
around 1979. You may need to try more than
once to send the files, as the 'benefit' of
the amount of posting I do in the newsgroups
is that the SWEN emails max out my mailbox
limit every hour or so <g>.

Are those showing up as errors during the update or
only in the log?

ive tried to email you a bunch of times, but it either comes back & says you
are full, or the mailbox is invalid. Ill give it a couple more shots.

The msgs come up when I am doing the actual patch (sp1/sp2/post/etc) of the
AIP and only show up in the logs, it does not give any actual popups or
indication that things are "wrong" otherwise.
