transitions are baaad on pc

I have a PPT show made on a Mac using PPT X Service Release 1 which has lots
of transitions within slides. I burned it to a CD.

They look great on the Mac but they look terrible on the PC - XP Home edition
as well as Windows 97. some transitions don't work at all, some just load one
image on top of another - awful.

I tried saving as PowerPoint show and PowerPoint package. The latter just
seems to place the file in a folder???

They are both unusable.

I suppose that the slides can be taken apart and each element placed on its own
slide but that will take the presentation from 30 slides to about 100!

Is there any hope for me to be able to save this presentation in a format that
PC users can actually use?

Thanks

Maybe a not so trivial correction,

I said transitions when I really was referring to animations.

Hi Harvey,

PowerPoint 2004 has a Compatibility Checker that will give a detailed
report about what animations are/ are not supported in various versions
of PowerPoint. Not only that, it will automatically fix the the
presentation so that it plays correctly on your anticipated audience's
version of PowerPoint.

You can try PowerPoint 2004 (part of Office 2004) for free for a limited
time. Just head to http://www.macbu.com/ and click on the "Test Drive."

Thanks. But a 450 megabyte download to look at PowerPoint gives me pause. I
wish there were a limited edition for PP only.
