translation crashes word 2002 xp

translation crashes word xp
I am trying to translate from French to English ever time I try word
just crashes, I have tried to re-install office but with on joy, I
have tried to look this trouble up on the net but I can not find a
answer to the problem. Version Word 2002 (10.6764.6735) SP3 O/S
windows 2000 pro with SP4 and all MS updates.
