transparencies are printing opaque instead of transparent

All shadows and pictures set on color transparent, transparent gradient, or a
certain percentage transparent, are printing opaque instead of transparent.
It shows up transparent on the file when I set it, but shows opaque in the
print preview mode, and then prints opaque as well.
