Transparency not working

Morning kids!

I placed a black drawing box on a slide and when I chose format, box,
transparancy, I set the slider to 75% but it has no effect on the
object. Never had this happen before. Is there some secret checkbox
somewhere? ;^)

Sorry for the double post!!! I did not realize that a post made thru Google
Groups was this same forum.
