Transparent gif has unwanted streaks of white

C

COHENMARVIN

I made a transparent gif out of a gif that had a white background.
Half of the white became transparent, but there are streaks of white
around some of the letters in the gif. Is there a way to make these
streaks go away?
Thanks,
Marvin

You would have to use a image/graphic application that would allow you to work at the pixel level
where you can delete each of white pixels causing the outline.

Matte against the background color of the target page. Then you will see
streaks of whatever that color is, instead of white.

yah, but there's usually no easy way to fix it since gifs can only have one
transparent color. gradients and shadows are near impossible to fix too.

You're reading way more into the original post than I am.

The antialiasing around an image in a GIF file is based on the transparent
background color. If you change that background color to a color that is
consistent with the page's background color, then the 'halo' will disappear
into the page's background....
