Transparent GIFs not right in PP2004 Mac

Hello,

I just upgraded to PP2004 MAC from PP98. I have several presentations that
use embedded transparent GIFs. These worked just fine in PP98 Mac and I have
never seen a problem with these presentations on PCs running various
versions of PP. The problem I have on the MAC with PP2004 is that solid
black lines and text are not visible (they are transparent). The really
weird thing is, if I go into "color adjustment" on these images, the little
preview shows the black areas just fine.

The GIF format was used so I could overlay a product cutaway illustration
with callouts over the background without getting a white box around the
whole thing.

Is this a known issue with PP2004 Mac? I can't find anybody else complaining
about this issue.

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply,

All patches/service packs have been applied.

On further experimentation I did discover that if I actually apply any
change in the "color adjustment" dialog box, it magically brings back the
missing black (of course it also changes the color to some degree). This
appears to be a workable fix (beats converting and replacing all the GIFs
with PNGs anyway!)

I hope this work-around can help others with the same problem or better yet
lead to a fix.

Thanks for the help.

Hello Robert,

Would it be possible for you to post (or email me) some of these problematic
GIFs? Do you happen to know what app they were created with?

Thanks,
Andrew
