Transparent/non-printing text?

Word 97 on Windows 98.

I have a glossy, professionally printed 8.5 x 11 inch flyer which is sent to
members who request it. One side of the page is a form. I would like to
fill out parts of the form with the member's information. This is done on
an as-needed basis, often an individual at a time. In olden times, I might
have stuck the form into a typewriter and filled in the information. Is
there some way I might do a similar thing with Word? For example, I can
envision a properly formatted image of the form, onto which I might type
the necessary information. That information only -- not the form, itself --
would then be printed onto my preprinted form, into the corresponding
fields.

Is this possible with Word? Or, does anyone have another idea of how to
accomplish this?

It isn't that simple. Firstly, a scanned document is an image and is
therefore pretty big. Also, scanning software often changes the size of the
image anyway. But there is an easier way for you do achieve this as your
requirement is fairly simple. You need to create a user form that has only
the necessary boxes for the member's information. Align the entry boxes so
that they align with the appropriate areas on the form. When you print to
the form, you select the option in the Print dialog to Print Data Only for
Forms. Pop a blank form in the printer and press print.

Umm, Terry, did you mean to give Darrell the protected-form link
instead? Userforms don't do what he describes. (Ok ok, they
*could*, but what he wants sounds like the other kind.) And a
major distinction (advantage?) of userforms is that alignment
of the items to be filled in doesn't matter.
