transparent pictures with text

How do you make pictures transparent so that the text will show up clearly
infront and the picture can still be seen?

How do you make pictures transparent so that the text will show up clearly
infront and the picture can still be seen?

Can you describe in more detail what you mean?

Are you referring to drawings that you then annotate?

Are you importing photographic images, say JPEGs or GIFs, that you
want to annotate?

If the picture is behind why does it need to be transparent? Or is the
note container that you want to make more transparent so that the
image lying behind is more clearly seen?
