Transporting Customized Outline Numbered List to Other Word Docume

Hello-

I have a specification template that has customized styles that feed into a
customized outline numbered list. I was hopeful to be able to export or copy
these formatting setting to another (more like hundreds) of word documents.
I tried to use the Organizer feature, but was unable to get the custom Style
settings to properly port across.

Is anyone aware of a simple way to accomplish this so that I do not have to
go into each file and manually change the formatting?

Many thanks for your insight!

Instead of copying styles, it would be easier to create a new document
(based on your custom template) and then insert an existing document into
the newly created document.

You would have to ask in a programming newsgroup such as
microsoft.public.word.vba.general, but I think the procedure could be
automated without too much difficulty.

Thanks for your reply. Automating this process is definitely what i am
looking to do and I agree is seems feasible. Essentially, I need to path the
style and numbering format from various levels in one document to one or more
levels in a different document. One would think that I could create an
automated way to do this. Since this was not available, I had to copy and
paste text with the style and numbering format into each document and then
manually path each level of the document over to the new version. It was a
painfully long process and I would be open to a new way of resovling this.
Are you aware of a better way or way to post onto a different newsgroup for
wider insight on this topic?

Thanks,
-Bob
