I you are talking about the recording feature in Notebook Layout View in
Word 2004, it is possible that your Normal template is damaged.
It is also possible that you are trying to use a document you have copied
from somewhere else and treat it as a Notebook Layout document. You can't
do that: you must create the document fresh each time you want a Notebook
Document. The internal file structure is different from an ordinary
document. If you take a Notebook document, record some audio in it, then
display it in one of the ordinary views, it's quite likely to not work if
you come back to Notebook View because the internal structure gets damaged
by displaying it as an audio document.
However, I need much more detail from you before I can help you: I need to
know which version of Word you are using and what "Level" (which updaters
you have applied and I need to know the version and level of your operating
system.
Just a gentle word to the wise: This forum is NOT a mobile phone
You'll have a much better chance of getting someone who knows the answer to
respond if you leave the abbreviations and contractions dor TXT messaging
and write a letter in conventional English in here
Cheers
