"Treat selected text as drawing greyed out"

B

Bradley Nelson

I use Goldmine as my mail client, but I want to answer my emails with
handwriting. This may sound easy, but whenever I drag and drop my
inked email responses in OneNote into a Goldmine email composition
window, it turns into text. If I create a drawing in OneNote, I can
drag and drop it with no problem; it stays an image. I thought maybe I
could create a background for writing on, like stationery, but when I
put ink writing on top of the background picture in OneNote, the text,
of course, remains text.

In OneNote, I can click on the Tools/Treat selected text/ buttons, but
the option "as drawing" is greyed out. This is very frustrating; does
anyone have a fix for this? I have tried Journal too for what I am
trying to do, but no luck there either. All ink gets switched to text
upon copying and pasting or dragging and dropping.

There must be a solution to this. In fact, the first time I tried to
drag and drop from OneNote into Goldmine, my writing appeared just as
I had written it, but I have been unable to duplicate this since then!
So, it can be done.

Does GoldMine support "Paste As..." under the edit menu? Usually there
are several options for pasting as text, Ink, picture, etc.

Bradley, look on the Drawing and Writing Tools toolbar, clcik the little
arrow at the end/bottom, and add the button for creating drawings only. Then
use this all the time.
