How do I add a trendline to a chart based on a pivot table? Is it possible

Thanks

Did you try this? Right click on a series, and select Add Trendline from
the pop up menu. This works in Excel 2000 and XP (2002), and presumably
for 2003 as well; Excel 97 didn't support pivot charts.

Jon -

I am having a similar problem - I have a PivotChart in
Excel 2002, but when I try to add a trendline, "Add
Trendline" is disable in the menu. I have done this same
chart using the same PivotTable template (i.e. same
columns/rows/data but different source data from a
different test execution). The first set of data worked
(allowed the trendline) and the second set did not (add
trendline disabled from the menu). Any ideas why?

Thanks,
Brigid

Interesting finding... I changed my chart type from
column to line and it now works. Note again - same data
types, same format, with column chart type worked
previously... oh well.

If you change the chart type back, the trendline remains, doesn't it? Is
the Add Trendline command still disabled?

Way to go....It works like a charm. Kind of weird the way it does that, but it works none the less.

Thanks
