"Trial Period Expired" message on PWA

I have done what I thought was a clean installation of Project Server 2007
into an existing MOSS 2007 installation. The 'Project Application Service'
has started successfully, and I successfully created the Project Web Access
site as a subsite on our primary Sharepoint application.

When I attempt to view the PWA site at the newly provisioned URL, I receive
a simple error page showing the 'Trial Period Expired' message.

We had originally used a trial installation of MOSS 2007, but we uninstalled
that and reinstalled MOSS 2007 with a valid Enterprise Server license. There
was no trial installation of Project Server 2007.

Further, when I run setup.exe (for Project Server 2007) and select 'Repair',
I get a message saying:

An installation package for the product Microsoft Windows Sharepoint
Services 3.0 1033 Lang Pack cannot be found. Try the installation again
using a valid copy of the installation package 'wssmui.msi'.

The wssmui.msi file is located in the WSS.en-us subdirectory on the CD.

Thanks in advance.

We got this error after installing a language pack...
re-run the "SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard", this
solved the problem

Similar but different:

We had installed the trial version of Microsoft Office Project Server 2007. After the 180-day trial expired, we wanted to enter our volume license key and go to a licensed version of Project Server 2007. To quote the Microsoft download site, "The trial period for this product is 180 days. You can convert to a licensed installation at any time during the trial or after the trial has expired by entering the appropriate product key."

I couldn't find this information posted on the internet, so I'm going to share it here.

Steps to Activate:
Convert a license type and enter the product key
1. In Central Administration, on the top link bar, click Operations.
2. On the Operations page, in the Upgrade and Migration section, click Convert license type.
3. On the Convert License Type page, in the Enter the Product Key box, type the new product key.

After you have inserted the keys and received the message that activation was successful. The server must be rebooted.

I took these steps, and the conversion to a licensed version of Project Server worked perfectly. It looks like the reboot may not have been required (but we did it). The conversion to a licensed version retained the configurations we had done during trial period.
