Trial Product Key and email

G

Gordon

I downloaded a trial version of Publisher. The activation key was sent to an
email address I don't monitor very much. Can someone tell me where this
email address is? I can't see it in either my MS Passport, or my Live ID or
anywhere. I thought it might be in my Office Online profile but I can't see
any email address there at ALL!

Thanks!

Come on you guys, don't pretend to be THICK. Of COURSE I'm not asking you
WHAT email address it was sent to, I KNOW THAT. I'm asking you where MS
picks up the email address FROM. Like Passport or Live ID or Office Online
profile. Except I can't see the particular address in any of those places.

They don't "pick" an email address. You specify the address so if you had a
misspelling or opted to use a fake address, you will have to do it again and
this time take note of where you tell Microsoft you can be reached.

Of course if Gordon had looked at the screen when he got to the download
screen it posted the 25 character product key in plain view and all he had
to do was write it down and not even worry about the email.

I did write it down. What I am trying to do is to ascertain where this
email address is, so I can change it!

Well I didn't put in an address. I signed in to Office Trials using my
Passport. (Hotmail Account). That was the account I expected the key to be
sent to. But it wasn't - it was sent to this other (yahoo)address. I can't
FIND this address in my Passport! Or in my Windows Live ID! So where is it
stored?
What I am trying to do is to eliminate it from whatever "profile" it's
stored in BUT I CAN'T FIND IT!

Thanks for the humorous replies - I found it at last.
It appears that Office Trials uses a completely DIFFERENT account setting
from Office Online, Passport, Live ID etc etc, even though you sign in with
Passport or Windows Live ID!
HOW STUPID is that? I thought Passport or Windows Live ID was supposed to be
a one-stop sign in for ALL MS sites....obviously not.....

I'm glad you at least chuckled at some of our responses. Life is too short
not to laugh at ourselves.

I guess I am the thick one here because from your OP and the follow-up,
nowhere did you say that you had the key all you wanted to know is where to
find the email address. Most people who post here didn't write down the
key and then can't find the email where the key was sent because they put in
a fake email address. While after reading your other posts it still wasn't
clear what you wanted other than a key until the last post to me.

Glad you finally found where the email address was located.
