trial to legal version conversion

I just transferred all my files on my old Mac to a new one. The first time I tried to use excell in office 2004 I got a notice that a trial version would expire in 30 days. How, without a reinstallation, can I register?

That¹s because a trial version was installed on your new Mac. You must use
Remove Office (in the Microsoft Office 2004:Additional tools:Remove Office
folder. This will completely remove the Office test drive from your machine.
Then you will need to reinstall Office 2004 from the original install disc,
AND then install all the updates in sequence. You can NOT convert the test
drive that came installed on your new mac to the full version.

You have to remove the trial version before using the retail version.
Registration is not required.

Currently, the Mactopia site is broken for this function. "Registration" has
nothing to do with the operation of the software - unlike the Activation
required for MS Windows software. It's little more than a marketing tool.

Removing the test drive AFTER installing the retail version has been a
nightmare for many users.
