Trial version deletion

I just bought a new PC which came with a trial version of MS Office. I have a
copy of Office Home & Student which I intend to use but I don't know if I
should do anything before I install this. If I don't activate the trial
version then I can't uninstall it but I don't want to end up with duplicates
of all the program files which I feel is possible if I just install the Home
and Student.
I need to install Outlook (now, so it'll be done by the time I get a reply)
which is a separate entity but I'm not sure what to do about Office.
Any advice as to the neatest method here would be appreciated.

I hate to have to post this and say I answered my own question but there it is.

It was possible to uninstall the trial version, even before activiating it
but what threw me was that in the control panel\"programs & features" list,
it was listed not under "M" as I was expecting but it was first in the list :
2007 Office.....

I also uninstalled the trial installation assistant and then deleted the
icon on the desktop. I'd have thought both those last 2 steps would have been
part of the first but that's not the case.

Anyway, the uninstallation and subsequent installation worked fine so
problem solved. Sorry to have posted in the first place.
