Trial version doesn't let me type

I just downloaded the Trial Version of MS OneNote, and opened it under
Windows XP Pro. It opens fine, but when I try to use it, I'm not able to.
Under File, "New" is grayed out. When I try to type in the open spaces, no
characters appear.

I can click on tabs and see different pages open up, but I cannot do
antyhing with those pages.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Activate it, and you should be fine.

I did activate it, and it still didn't work.

But Googling this problem led me to a fix: after closing the program down
and re-opening it, it did work. Very odd.

That is a good method, any time you make changes. Glad it is working.
