Trial Version expired: To Buy online

Hi

I only had the trial version of Mac Office 2004 which now expired. Can I now buy the new Office online? I'm located in Africa. Is this regarded as an upgrade or a full purchase

You can *buy* it online, but no version of Mac Office is legitimately
available for *download* - which I believe is hat you mean:)

Upgrades are only useable if you have a licensed copy of a prior versions -
IOW, No - you can't *upgrade* from a free trial.

Gave my daughter a macbook as a gift - received it in Dec 2007. Came pre-loaded with Office 2004 Test Drive. We would like to purchase the 'test drive' but when we follow the 'buy now' path - it leads to a mactopia screen which has info on how to purchase Office 2008 either in stores or online - there is no information on how to purchase the 2004 copy that is installed on the macbook - can anyone help with this ?
thanks.

Basically, you can't turn the Test Drive into a full version. You will need
to buy a proper full version instead, then run the Remove Office tool (in
Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/Additional Tools/Remove Office). After
that, you're free to install the full version. I would recommend buying
Office 2008 Home & Student, as its relatively low price tag will allow you
to install Office on up to three Macs in your household. Additionally, if
you install Office 2008, the Test Drive should be removed automatically.
