Office 2003 updates

I keep getting automatic updates for Office 2003, I do not run this on my
computer. Not that I would not like to, it's just too exspensive for me to
buy. I have a stand alone home used computer and am retired so the cost and
my use of it does not make it cost effective for me. Please HOW can I stop
Office 2003 from trying to update what it can't, I get error's and install
not complete or can't update. It just keeps trying to install automatic
intall. If I ingnore it, I get updates ready to install over and over again.

HELP
