trial version office Home & Student

How do I remove the trial version if the installation "encountered an error"
and can neither install or uninstall? I have tried the suggestion to use
"Windows installer CleanUp Utility" and thought I removed it but apparently
have not. I now think I have caused even more problems. PLEASE help.

That is correct! Because of the more modular architecture with multiple .msi
files, it is strongly NOT recommended to use the Installer Cleanup from
290301 for Office 2007. 928218 is the way to handle this.

OK, still can't get rid of trial version of Office 2007. I reinstalled my
Office 2003 from the disk and got the message to download updates ( I think
service pack 3 and something about the language) but they failed after 3
attempts. SO, I have now uninstalled 2003 but still show 2007 in "Add/Remove"
programs. When I click to remove, it now says files are corrupted and to
reinstall it. I still have the original download on my desktop. Should I use
it or delete it or what? Sorry for sounding so crazy but I'm more confused
than ever. Thanks for your patience.

Ok, I tried to run the MS kb/928218 but couldn't even get through the first
step to uninstall specific msi files because the system said "This action is
only valid for products that are currently installed". Remember the program
is neither installed or uninstalled. Any suggestions?? Anyone???

PS I believe you will find that it states, on the cleanup utility site, not
to use it in Office 2007

I would try reinstalling the Trial, and then you should be able to uninstall
it normally from Control Panel.

Thank you all so much to all of you but I cannot do the suggestion of
kb/92818 because on the very 1st step to uninstall each .msi file where the
subject is "Microsoft Office Product_Name 2007" because I get a message that
states "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed".
Remember I can't install or uninstall. One lady said to reformat and start
over. What is that?

Just follow the KB and follow it through. It should uninstall without problem
