Tricks in using the Gantt chart?

By accident I discovered the following "tricks" in using the Gantt chart:
1. Put the cursor on the right of the Gantt bar, drag it to the right/left
to lengthen/shorten the duration of the task.
2. Put the cursor on the left of the Gantt bar, drag it to the right/left to
change the start date of the task.
3. Put the cursor on the Gantt bar and drag it to change the % completion of
the task.
4. Drag one Gantt bar to a different one to link them.
5. Of course there is also the splitting task function one can do on a Gantt
bar.

Does anyone know any other tricks in using the Gantt chart?

By accident I discovered the following "tricks" in using the Gantt chart:
Be sure you understand the undesireable effects you may get by doing these
things.
1. Put the cursor on the right of the Gantt bar, drag it to the right/left
to lengthen/shorten the duration of the task.
They may have fixed it, but in the past, this was a great way to get
"split" days, where tasks were starting/finishing in the middle of the day
instead at the beginning or ending of the day.
2. Put the cursor on the left of the Gantt bar, drag it to the right/left to
change the start date of the task.
And put a Constraint on that task that may hide your Critical Path.
3. Put the cursor on the Gantt bar and drag it to change the % completion of
the task.
Which, if you're good, only takes twice as long to get it to the value you
want than typing it into a %Complete field.
4. Drag one Gantt bar to a different one to link them.
Just be very careful not to drag to either side, to avoid creating an
unwanted Constraint (see 2 above)
5. Of course there is also the splitting task function one can do on a Gantt
bar.

Does anyone know any other tricks in using the Gantt chart?

Hope this helps in your world.

Using paste links you make a pair of gantt bars walk across the screen.
Copy the finish field of one task and do a paste special / paste link into
the start field of the other task.
Do the same for the other task.

They will walk all the way to 2049.

Jack,
Please, tell me you didn't stay up all night figuring this one out. I'd
think our poor users have enough problems with project as is without
turning it into a video game :)

Like most things I know about project, the discovery was purely accidental.
