agreed.
Since my last post I tried to repair, Office 2003 to no
avail. Then decided the other route, uninstall and
reinstall. It appears to install correctly, but none of
the Office applications will launch now. So now I have no
outlook, word, excel, or ppt. the app tries to load...
then dies.. no message appears, if I try to start it
again a Do you want to start in Safe Mode dialog
appears... but that too dies without a message, then if I
try to start a third time it asks me if I want to run
Repair and it then runs a dialog saying put Publisher
2003 in the cd drive.. it completes. But nothing is
solved... Publisher 2003 ran ok before and after all this
btw... so that part appears to be a bug and the repair
for the office applications never actually run.
I am suspecting my registry enties are all hosed up, and
wondering if there is a way to force the Office 2003
Repair to run.
The other thought I have is that the application
installer program.. MSI is messed up. I get the
impression that it is not on the CD because I have at
times seen a message saying find the disk that has it...
a similar message has appeared regarding PROCOM ..
anyway, I am really stuck now. ps, I added you to my
Messenger buddies list... so perhaps we can collaborate
there and find a solution.
