Trigger ppt-macro from command button

Hi, I want to trigger a macro from a command button in
powerpoint. This works fine, as long as the presentation
is in 'view show' mode. But in edit mode, the button also
is in edit mode and cannot be clicked. Isn't it possible
to click a button in edit mode in powerpoint?
