Triggers

I use triggers in PPT for Windows but can't see how to do this in PPT 2008
Mac version. I set an area on my slide that acts as a trigger to perform an
action. This is not the same as a hyperlink, I want the action within the
current slide. Has anyone worked out how to do this in PPT 2008 Mac?

Thanks

Terry

Hi Terry,

Triggers are not support in Mac versions of PowerPoint. You're limited to
custom animations and action settings.

'Nother quickie for you ... are they not supported at all or is there just no
UI for creating them? IOW, if created on a PC, will they play in 2008?

(They won't in 2004 ... tried that earlier)

Ahhh nuts. But thanks for the info, Terry.

Looks like Roy Rogers will have to stick to Windows for the nonce.

Happy trails (or trials, as the case may be)

No triggers. No Roy Rogers. No white horses. No Zorro.

I feel that I'm opening an old wound, but has MS ever offered any explanation as to why Mac PPT is sans "triggers"? This feature was one that I was hoping for when updating from '04 to '08. :frown:

Hi,

Yes, they have.

Microsoft's Mac Business Unit got hit by having to accommodate the new
XML file format, switch to a dual binary, while changing the underlying
code from PowerPC based code to Intel based code.

There wasn't time for much else this time.
