Trouble after installing BCM Technical Refresh

C

Christopher

I just installed the BCM Technical Refresh and I followed the directions
that said to uninstall the previous version of BCM and all components that
installed with it. After completing the installation, I opened Outlook and
got the following message:

"BCM only works with the Microsoft Office Suite that it was packaged with.
Please install the appropriate suite and retry."

I've made no changes to Microsoft Office so I'm guessing that there must
have been a file that associated my previous installation of BCM to Office.

Any ideas?

Just a side note, I am using Office 2007 Beta 2 on Vista Beta 2. I
downloaded BCM at the same time I downloaded Office 2007. I have not
applied the Technical Refresh for Office and have not upgraded to Vista RC1
yet.

Did you also install the B2TR patch for Office? The Beta 2 Technical Refresh (B2TR) patch for Office 2007 Professional and OneNote 2007 (combined) is available at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b07a3387-01cf-4bc3-821a-0bb10e7a59fa. The patch is a free download and does not require a product key.

Note that this is a patch. You must install Beta 2 (which does require a product key) before installing this patch. You will not be able to remove the patch, nor will you be able to install Beta 2 versions of additional Office programs after installing the patch. These issues and others are covered in the notes at http://pschmid.net/blog/2006/09/14/43, which I STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you read COMPLETELY before installing B2TR, especially the part about saving all your Ofice 2007 documents.
