We are using a simple network, 2 computers and a router, neither computer is
acting as a server, both are being used as desktops. Both computers are
running the exact same version of Vista and Outlook, brand new puters. I
have setup a BCM database on Computer A (as User A, the admin) and gone
through the setup process under the "Share Database" wizard on that computer,
setting up a 2nd user (User B who will log in via Computer B) and given it a
simple temporary password.
When I go to Computer B and try to connect to the BCM database in Outlook,
it asks me under "Select an existing database" to enter the computer name and
"connect", when I go that it gives me the error message about resetting the
password, I then enter the temporary password and then enter User B's local
password and it tells me the password is an incorrect network password.
However, I can go the Networking page and access Computer A from Computer B
and enter the temporary password and Windows let's User B right in. There
must something else I am missing.
I have double-checked all the user names and passwords and tried deleting
the databases and users and still get the same message.
