Trouble Creating Distribution Lists.

I am having trouble creating distribution lists from
Outlook 2000. When I try to create one, it will only
allow me to search from a few different categories. Is
there a way to switch what those categories are? I found
something about inserting the names by copying, but it
will not allow me to paste them.

When I go to the select members section of creating a
distribution list, the only fields available to sort by
are name, email address, business phone, and home phone.
Is there any way I can add fields or get around this like
if I wanted a distribution list based on what company
people work for, or more importantly a user created field?

Please explain what you mean.
The dialog box for creating DL's is not restricted by nor can it be filtered
by categories.

No. The list in that dialog cannot be filtered. You'd need to filter then
group your Contacts into a separate subfolder before you start the DL
dialog, then use the subfolder to select the recipients.
