Trouble deleting linked table from Access 2002 database

Good evening, I am having trouble deleting a linked table from a database.
I have tried several time but Access keeps crashing. Has this happened to
anyone, if so, what did you do to correct the problem? I am currently
running Access 2002 SP-2. You can reply to this newsgroup, or to the email
address in the header; you will have to remove the NOSPAM.

Have you tried creating a new .mdb file and importing all (non-table)
objects, then linking from there? While this might not answer "why", it
might let you move on to the next crisis ... <g>

Well I found the answer to my own question, it is detailed in the following

the short answer is if the linked database location is more than 128
characters access crashes, the fix is to move the linked database to a
closer location.
