Trouble e-mailing picture attachments

I am trying to e-mail pictures as attachments and keep getting the message:

OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail.

I've never had trouble sending them before, how come I am now?

OE - try to ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup such as
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general -or-
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
