The first time I did it, I got an error message -- file name.pst is not
compatible with this version of the personal folders -- contact your
administrator. I looked this up on the microsoft web site and tried to "work
around" it. When I tried to just move and paste the file into a new pst, it
said that it was a "strange file" and that outlook security wouldn't let me
import a 201 mb file. I can see that it's there (admittedly, a huge file),
it is copied onto a disk, a different place on the hard drive, under many
different names, all with pst ending, and it will not show up in outlook
(perhaps because now it's deemed a "threat" by outlook). If this is truly
the last reason why I can't move it, perhaps there is a way to remove the
"security" issue? Otherwise, I think the emails are just a memory. Of
course, the problem is that there are important, very meaningful, emails in
that file. Thanks for thinking about it.
