trouble in returning to the same location in Word document

I have the following problem with working with Word and Endnote:

I insert or edit an Endnote reference in a word document, and then I
want to return to the document at the exact location where I inserted
or edited the reference.
However, Word automatically directs me to exactly the middle page of
the document Then I have to scroll down or up to find the correct
location in the document again. I cannot find any setting in Word
preferences to change this. The same happens when I apply a formatting
style to the whole document.

Hi yfke123-

Afraid I know of no such setting or preference. You should simply be
able to double-click the endnote number and jump right back to the
number location in your text. Just like d-clicking the number in the
text should jump you to the correct note at the end of the document.
Have you tried using footnotes to test for whether they behave the same
way?

I'm not clear about the last statement about "The same happens when I
apply a formatting style to the whole document."

Please post back with more detail |:>)

Yeah...I meant to respond to that post, but was too confused...actually, no,
I delayed answering because I needed to install my updated EndNote, because
I think they are talking about the third-party program rather than Word's
endnotes.

Anyhow, original poster, please post with more detail, *and version
numbers!*

Alternatively, typing a space might jump you to where the cursor is, then
you can backspace.

Hi Daiya-

I thought that may be the case, but threw the idea out there anyway.

Sometimes ya just don't know, ya know? |:>)

Shift + F5 should take you there: it cycles between the most recent five
editing locations (provided you have not closed the document).

Shift F5 indeed works with endnotes and foodnotes.

I guess the problem is caused by the Endnote program, (I use version
6.0.2
pressing the space bar after insterting an Endnote reference gets me
back to the right place in the word document (so that's what I do to
solve the problem), but clicking the mouse does not take me to the
right place (and that's what confuses me)
