Trouble installing 2008 over trial version

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

When getting ready to install the 2008 upgrade over trial version (I also have 2004 installed), I used an old method of removing the trial 2008. I threw out the folder with the 2008 programs and now I cannot do the remove as shown in the install guide. When I try to install the upgrade from the disc, it says my product key is invalid. Help please. Thank you much.

Is this the download try & buy? If yes, we cannot help here. You must
